Smitten

Sometimes I get a little dark and heavy here.  But today I share this.  When I’m dreary or weary or sad I sometimes just watch this video.  The quality is lacking but everything else about this video brings a smile to my face.  For six years Greg taught at the Sacred Heart School of Montreal – an all-girls Catholic school in the heart of downtown.  Here he is surprising the graduating class of 2006 with “It’s the End of Your World As You Know It”…it took many hours of practice to get all those words squeezed into his brain and then spilled out of his mouth.

I just can’t help it – this video makes me smitten with the boy all over again.

  1. Liz…you are not the only one who loves this boy!!! I was SO impressed with Greg when our son Jonathan entered North Toronto high school…Greg was his mentor…Jonny was truly a misfit for that school…he wanted to go to Dave’s school but should have been at Northern, which was a technical school. Jon ended up hanging out with the janitors in the basement a lot of the time
…playing ping pong and eating lunch with them…but when Jon started in grade nine Greg took him under his wing and told everyone ‘hey this is Jonny!’
…and Jon proudly told everyone that Greg was in his Sunday School class!!! Hahahaha

  2. Alison – Greg is an exceptional person. But so was Jon. Somehow Greg saw the best parts of Jon and has always had a soft spot in his heart for him. It is no coincidence that our son is named Jonathan. Thank you for sharing this with me.
